About helping RSK Farm

Hurricane Irene blew through the Hudson Valley and Catskill region Sunday afternoon August 28, 2011. Although it had been downgraded to a “tropical storm”, it packed a wicked punch on many of our beautiful mountain towns. Some of the hardest hit were the farms along the Schoharie Creek, and our good friend Bob Kiley and his wife Sandy of RSK Farms in Prattsville, New York lost 14 acres of topsoil! It’s hard to imagine acres of 8-10′ of prime topsoil being washed away, but that’s what’s happened to the Kileys. And sadly, this occurred during prime harvest season, so they also lost 30 acres of crops ready to take to market as well.

We have created this website as a way of helping them rebuild their lives and their farm. Please donate whatever you can, no amount is too small. When you click on the button, the money you donate will go directly into their paypal account and help them immediately.

Spread the word, and help us by telling all your friends to donate too. Every little bit helps. Thank you!

  1. I can think of no other farm that was more devastated than RSK Farm. Bob and Sandy Kiley possess such a rare integrity; their products were always of the highest quality . Quite simply, if you have enjoyed a meal at the Peekamoose Restaurant (and many other wonderful establishments in our area), then you’ve tasted the efforts of this amazing farmer. Losing RSK Farm would be a tremendous blow to the culinary world of the Catskills and Hudson Valley.

    • Thank you for your shared love for RSK Farm and its owners Bob and Sandy Kiley. These folks are our local heros and they need all the support they can get right now. Let’s keep spreading the word and get lots of folks to help them.

  3. Can you please post instructions on how to donate? I didn’t see any mention of a link to a paypal account. Can we drop checks at Bistro to Go?
    Thanks!

    • Hi Betsy, If you log onto http://www.help-the-farm.org from a desktop computer or a laptop (not an iphone or ipad) you will see a button labeled “chipin” that is orange. When you click on that, it takes you to another screen where you can make your donation via paypal. Thank you for any help you can provide. If you still are having trouble, send me an email at bistro@hvc.rr.com and I can try to walk you through it. Mary Anne
